It is designed to provide a foundation upon which students may build a deeper understanding of this rich and varied tradition. Contact the Dharma Center for registration.
• Personality and Practice
Saturday, February 18, 10 am - 4 pm, Dana: $25 (suggested)
This workshop is designed to help facilitate awareness of personality traits which may affect life and spiritual practice. Michael will explore Western and Eastern paradigms through the Enneagram and Five Buddha Families. When we understand how our "conditioned self" influences all aspects of life, we begin to become more skillful in letting go of habitual patterns. We begin to practice our "Buddha nature".
• Five Buddha Families*
Saturday, March 10, 10 am – 4 pm, Dana $25 (suggested)
The Five Dhyani Buddhas represent the purified aspects of the five aggregates. This means that the form, feeling, mental formations, and consciousness of our habitual ego self are purified into the enlightened awareness of the wisdom mind. In this event, we will explore the Five Buddha Families with all the associated elements, senses, colors, feminine qualities, etc. We then see ourselves in the mandala and recognize where we need to purify and develop, facilitating a deeper meditation practice.
* This is a follow-up to the Personality and Practice class but is also beneficial to be taken as a separate teaching.
